Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" ORLON High Bulk Fingering Yarn or "DAWN" ORLON POMPADOUR High Bulk Fingering Yarn
5 ozs. Baby Pink or color of your choice. 


1 pr. each knitting needles No. 2 and No. 3. 
1 double pointed needle No. 2. 
Steel crochet hook No. 2.
1 ½ yds. ¾ inch ribbon. 3 yds. narrow ribbon. 
GAUGE: 13 sts = 2 inches on No. 3 needles.


JACKET

BACK: On No. 3 needles cast on 65 stitches (sts) and knit (K) 6 rows.

7th Row. K 2, * holding yarn in front of work, slip (sl) 1, K 5, repeat from * across row ending with sl 1, K 

8th Row.K 2, * holding yarn in back of work sl the slipped st, K 5, repeat from * across row ending with sl the slipped st, K 2.

9th Row. Same as 7th row.

10th Row. K across row.

11th Row. Purl (P) across row.

12th Row. K across row.

13th Row. * K 5, holding yarn in front of work (this is wrong side of pattern) sl 1, repeat from * across row ending with K 5.

14th Row. * K 5, holding yarn in back of work, sl 1, repeat from * across row ending with K 5.

15th Row. Same as 13th row.

16th Row. K across row.

17th Row. P across row.

18th Row. K across row. Repeat from 7th row for pattern until back measures 7 inches from beginning.

Next 2 Rows. Keeping pattern uniform, bind off 5 sts at beginning of each row, then decrease 1 st at beginning and end of every other row 3 times. Work even until armholes measure 3 ½ inches from 1st bind off.

Next 2 Rows. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each row.

Next 4 Rows. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of each row. Bind off remaining 17 sts for back of neck.

RIGHT FRONT: Cast on 35 sts, K 6 rows.

7th Row. K 2, * holding yarn in front of work sl 1, K 5, repeat from * 3 times, holding yarn in front of work sl 1, K 8.

8th Row. K 8, * holding yarn in back of work sl 1, K 5, repeat from * across row ending with sl 1, K 2.

9th Row. Same as 7th row.

10th Row. K across row.

11th Row. P 29, K 6. The last 6 sts are for border and are always knitted.

12th Row. K across row.

13th Row. K 5, * holding yarn in front of work sl 1, K 5, repeat from * twice, holding yarn in front of work sl 1, K 11.

14th Row. K 11, * holding yarn in back of work sl 1, K 5, repeat from * across row.

15th Row. Same as 13th row.

16th Row. K across row.

17th Row. P 29, K 6.

18th Row. K across row. Repeat from 7th row until front measures same as back to underarm ending at armhole edge.

Next Row. Keeping pattern uniform, bind off 5 sts at armhole edge, then decrease 1 st at armhole edge every other row 3 times. Work even until armhole measures 2 ½ inches from 1st bind off ending at neck edge.

Next Row. Bind off 9 sts at neck edge, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row twice. Work even in pattern on 16 sts until armhole measures 3 ½ inches from 1st bind off. Bind off shoulder same as back shoulder.

LEFT FRONT: Work to correspond to right front reversing the shaping.

SLEEVES: Cast on 41 sts and K 6 rows, then work in pattern same as back increasing 1 st at beginning and end of every 12th row 3 times. Work even on 47 sts until sleeve measures 5 ½ inches from beginning.

Next 2 Rows. Keeping pattern uniform, bind off 5 sts at beginning of each row, then decrease 1 st at beginning and end of every other row until 17 sts remain, bind off remaining sts. Work other sleeve in same manner. Sew side and shoulder seams. Sew sleeve seams and sew sleeves in position.

NECKBAND: With right side toward you on No. 3 needles, pick up and K 62 sts around neck. K 1 row.

Next Row. BEADING: K 2, * yarn over (y o), K 2 together (tog), repeat from * across row ending with y o, K 2. K 3 rows, bind off. Lace ribbon through beading.



CAP

On No. 3 needles cast on 83 sts and K 6 rows, then work in pattern same as on Jacket until work measures 4 ½ inches from beginning ending on wrong side.

Next Row. Bind off 30 sts at beginning of row, work in pattern across 23 sts and leave on needle (back of cap), bind off remaining 30 sts, cut yarn.

Attach yarn and work even in pattern on the 23 sts until section measures 4 inches decreasing in last row to 13 sts, bind off. Sew back seams. On No. 2 needles pick up 48 sts across lower edge of cap and K 7 rows, bind off. Finish with ribbon ties as illustrated.


BOOTIES

On No. 2 needles cast on 41 sts, K 6 rows. Repeat from 7th through 18th rows of pattern of Jacket once, then repeat from 7th through 11th rows once.

Next Row. BEADING: K 1, * y o, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row.

Next Row. K across row.

Next Row. K 16 and place on a holder, K 9 sts for instep, place remaining 16 sts on another holder. Work in garter st (K each row) on the 9 instep sts for 1 ¾ inches ending on wrong side, place these sts on a double pointed needle, cut yarn leaving an end to fasten. Slip the 16 sts from 1st holder on needle, attach yarn and pick up and K 13 sts on side of instep, K the 9 sts from double pointed needle, pick up and K 13 sts on opposite side of instep, K the 16 sts from 2nd holder (67 sts). K 7 rows.

Next Row. K 30, K 2 tog, K 3, K 2 tog, K 30. K 3 rows even, bind off.

Sew back seam.

SOLE: Cast on 22 sts, K 1 row.

Next Row. K across row increasing 1 st at beginning and end of row.

Next Row. K across row. Repeat the last 2 rows twice (28 sts). Work 4 more rows even.

Next Row. Decrease 1 st at beginning and end of row. Work 1 row even. Repeat the last 2 rows twice, bind off. Without cutting yarn work a row of s c all around sole working 20 s c on each long side and 12 s c around each end (64 s c), cut yarn. With wrong side of sole and right side of upper section toward you, crochet the upper section and sole together with a row of s c, cut yarn. Lace ribbon through beading. Work other bootie in same manner.


MITTENS

With No. 2 needles cast on 41 sts and K 5 rows. Repeat 7th through 17th row of Jacket once.

Next Row. BEADING: K 1, * y o, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row. P 1 row. K 1 row. Repeat from 13th through 17th row of Jacket.

Next Row. * K 6, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row ending with K 1. Work even in garter st (K each row) until work measures 3 ¼ inches from beginning.

Next Row. * K 5, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row ending with K 1. K 5 rows even.

Next Row. * K 3, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row ending with K 1. K 4 rows even.

Next Row. K 2 tog across row ending with K1. K1 row even, cut yarn leaving an end. Thread into needle and draw through remaining sts. Sew side of mitten. Lace ribbon through beading. Work other mitten in same manner.
